Nikki Le has been teaching Honors and AP Chemistry at Sanger High for four years. Everyone who has had Le as a teacher knows how wonderful she can be.
“Ms. Le is one of the most understanding teachers I've had. She makes one of the hardest classes I've taken less hard with her in depth explanations and her positive attitude. She is one of the best teachers I’ve had,” explained Camalah Saleh, a current student in Le’s class.
With no one knowing what was going on with school due to the pandemic, class was very discombobulating for both teachers and students last semester. But Le has made a tough subject, like chemistry, easier to understand during these challenging times.
“Chemistry has been tough during the pandemic but with Ms. Le, it’s been easier to deal with the content. She has been making sure we understand what is being taught which is really great because it helps prepare me for not only our quizzes but the AP exam,” said Angel Campa, another student in Le’s class.
Online instruction was definitely a learning curve for all teachers, including Le. But despite the challenge, she still found different ways to adapt during these hard times.
“I tried to get used to the technology and learn about different tools that we could use to teach/learn, and there were definitely times where my students were able to teach me new skills, like splitting my iPad screen! It was a game changer,” said Le.
Le always tries to motivate her students and help them because she understands that learning can be difficult during these times.
“The main priority was trying to not add more stress on students' lives with school work, but we also needed to balance continuing to teach/motivate them,” explained Le.
Besides being an AP and Honors teacher for chemistry, she is also the co-advisor California Scholarship Federation (CSF). Le loves to try new things, as well as, reading, binge-watching her favorite shows and travelling.
“I tried fly fishing for the first time, and I’m looking forward to the next chance to go! Also trying to navigate the stock market,” said Le
Aside from her hobbies, Le loves to listen to music and watch movies. Her favorite music genre is indie rock and her favorite movies are “Harry Potter” and “Lord of the Rings.”
“I'm a fan of Death Cab for Cutie and The Head and the Heart,” said Le.
Le is a teacher that everyone who has the luck of getting -- loves. All her students see her as a teacher who is understanding. With only being at Sanger High for four years, she has built up an amazing reputation with all the students.
