One Percent is a clothing brand located in Sanger that sells shirts and hoodies. The clothing brand was made up by a group of friends who wanted to somehow give a motivational message to the people who need it.
“One of the major reasons for starting One Percent is the ability to use clothes as a way to speak out. The goal is to have every single drop speak on an issue or raise a question about something. We want clothes to be more than just a piece of clothing but a memory,” said former Sanger High student Davanti Rivera, the CEO of One Percent.
They believe that with the spread of positivity and encouraging others they will be able to support those who need it. They want to be able to be different from other brands and actually have a meaning on what type of brand they are.
“One Percent typically has to do with the meaning of the top 1% wealthiest people in the country. The goal is to change that meaning showing that wealth shouldn’t be about the money but really the qualities of the individual. Creating the right qualities will lead to wealth, happiness, and much more,” said Rivera.
One Percent price range is for their clothing products range between $20-$45, selling hoodies and t-shirts with the best quality. Keeping the price affordable will allow more people to be able to rep and buy more of the clothing product.
“What motivates us to keep on going is seeing our fans rep our gear. It’s very inspirational because it lets us know that the people who love the designs we come up with and allow us to keep providing for them. The business is successful because of our fans. Nothing would be possible without them. They allow us to keep going and pursue our dreams to not only make the brand known, but to put alert all the things going on in the world,” said Brian Jasper, an employee of One Percent and a former Sanger High graduate.
With people buying the clothing products, One Percent wants people to understand the name of the drop and being able to spread the motivation around the world. The recent drop of One Percent is Silence Kills.
“Silence Kills is heavily focused on adversities people face due to ethics, economical standings, or gender. It’s also ties directly into sexual assault as well as suicide prevention. The worst thing anyone can do is stay silent because the story and tragedy we have faced can save others. Our voice empowers the people around us and being silent kills not only us individually but also our society,” said Rivera.
“I wanted to model for this brand because of what it meant for me. It is a brand that not only gave me mental strength but the motivation to be a better; stronger person,” said Mario Ochoa, who is also a Sanger High graduate.
Not only is this a brand that can prove evil wrong but can motivate everyone to become a better person than they are.
“Our brand is something we don’t want to be taken lightly. The One Percent is you, each and everyone of you makes an impact in countless people's lives. This is going to be a culture to help surround our community with people who not only care but desire to make a change,” said Rivera.
