Mi Mundo de Sabores is the newest restaurant in town located at 2664 Jensen Ave near the Walmart Supercenter. The store has been open for about a year, but still has yet to be discovered by many residents. They sell a wide variety of Mexican snacks and ice cream.

“We have a variety of local snacks and antojitos from ice cream to raspados to local chips and fruita loca“ said Teresa Sanchez Ochoa, the owner of the store.

The restaurant specializes in sweets such as rolled ice cream, fruit cups, bags of chips with cheese(and lots of other toppings) and so much more. If the amount of options to choose from seems overwhelming, Ochoa has some recommendations that are sure to please all customers.

“The five of the best items are mango-nadas, strawberries and cream, the elote cups, flamey cups raspados,” said Ochoa.

Other items on the menu include their Flamey Cup, Boba Horchata and Diablitos. Elote is one of my favorite foods, so I have very high standards when it comes to the taste, but the Flamey cup totally surpassed them. The Flamey cup includes corn, nacho cheese, grated cheetos, sour cream and Valentina hot sauce.

Another item on the list we tried was the boba horchata, something that not a lot of people would think to put together, but it’s always good to try new things.

I love boba, and horchata just so happens to be one of my favorite beverages. But mixing my two favorite drinks together is a combination I never thought would be good. But as skeptical as I was, the drink definitely shattered my expectations. The boba horchata has kept me craving more ever since the day I tried it. It’s a “must try” for anyone with a sweet tooth.

The last item we tried was the Diablito, which Lauren Tillotson tried for the first time. She thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the service.

“The food was very unique and they were able to produce our orders in a considerably good time, I also like the variation of foods on the menu,” said Tillotson.

With how small Sanger is, it is very important to support the local businesses that pop up here in town. Many of the businesses that have come and gone are hidden gems that never saw the light of day due to a lack of customers. Mi Mundo de Sabores is a gem that deserves to be recognized.

“The pandemic affected us by making our business non operational throughout 2020 and by just pulling resources and by having a new marketing strategy for the business we have been able to have some sort of success and are very appreciative of Sanger residents coming in support,” said Ochoa

The pandemic has hit many local businesses hard, but Mi Mundoes de Sabores has stood strong. Support them by paying a visit and trying out some of the delicious items they have to offer.
