Returning to in-person instruction has been a big challenge for students this school year. COVID-19 has posed a big threat to students' health and safety. Schools are implementing more health regulations to slow the spread of the virus.

Although testing for COVID-19 is not mandatory, Sanger Unified’s Director of Pupil Personnel Services Jason Stricker believes students should consider getting tested to prevent spreading COVID-19 amongst family and friends.

“It is not necessary to get tested before coming back to school. But daily self-screening should occur for all family members before a student comes to school,” said Stricker.

Students will not be tested for COVID-19 on the Sanger High School campus. If students are interested in getting tested, the nearest COVID-19 testing building is located at the Sanger Community Center, among several others.

“The City of Sanger has free COVID-19 testing available at the Community Center. Test results are returned within 48-72 hours,” said Stricker.

It is extremely important for students to stay home when they feel sick in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Staying home when sick is more important than ever. This will be the most important way to keep everyone at Sanger High School healthy,” said Stricker.
